In Lombok you can take part in Mataram University’s Lombok International Study Program (LISP), an international and interdisciplinary program taught in English. The program runs every autumn from September to December.
LISP features courses in Indonesian language and culture as well as courses in tourism, business and management. The goal of the program is to increase your knowledge of Indonesia and Asia in general.
The program is taught by lecturers with diverse international backgrounds and challenges you to a more universal, analytic and interdisciplinary way of thinking and learning.
The university also organizes various kinds of free time activities for both international and local students, allowing you to interact with the locals and build friendships. These activities include sports, recycling workshops, cooking classes and Indonesian movie nights.
Who is this program for?
If you have an adventurous spirit, want to immerse yourself in a new culture and go where few have gone before, this program is for you.
In addition to learning about Indonesian culture, you’ll discover the unique culture of the island itself and will feel welcomed by its warm and generous atmosphere. Lombok offers a study abroad experience that is truly unique and special, far from the typical touristic hustle and bustle you might encounter elsewhere.
