Completing a full degree at Siam University

Although studying abroad for a semester or two has many tangible benefits, such as improved language skills, enhanced intercultural competence and new network of friends from all over the world, nothing quite compares to completing a full university degree abroad if you want to really kickstart an international career and get ahead. Not only will you obtain an internationally recognized degree, but you will also gain a level of insight into the life and culture of the host country not possible during a shorter stay. In-depth knowledge of an Asian culture is a true asset in a world where soon 4 out of 5 of the most powerful economies will be Asian.

An international education is beneficial in multiple ways. Your language skills improve; you will network with people from around the world; and you will become familiar with different cultures. These are priceless skills in your future career, in the more and more international markets and supply chains of the world. Asia, the fastest growing economic area in the world, is only going to grow in importance and power in the future. This will directly reflect onto the demand employers have for employees with in-depth knowledge of Asia.

Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree is an internationally recognized Master’s degree that is often considered the entry ticket to a successful management career. The MBA is essentially a general qualification designed to widen the horizons of business professionals and provide credentials for executive positions.  It takes into account all the major functions and practices of a business. An MBA is a postgraduate degree.

Students of MBA programs study the theory and application of business and management principles. The studies equip students with knowledge that can be applied to a variety of real world business situations.

Why get an MBA degree?

The main reason to attend an MBA program is to increase your salary potential and advance your career. Graduates who hold an MBA degree are usually eligible for jobs that would likely be beyond the reach of those with just a Bachelor’s degree.  In many countries, an MBA degree is almost a necessity in today’s job markets.

In addition to an education in general management, MBA programs have various areas of expertise students can utilize to further develop their personal resume. An MBA degree is relevant to all industries and sectors and is valuable regardless of the career chosen after graduation.

Graduating high-performing professionals for over 30 years

Since its establishment in 1986, Siam University’s MBA program has been one of the pioneers in this category in Thailand. Throughout its history, Siam University has graduated several thousands of executives to business and government sectors, among them engineers, bankers, accountants, IT managers, investment bankers, economists, educators etc. The MBA program at Siam is also known as IMBA (International MBA). The MBA curriculum is approved by the Thai Ministry of Education and revised regularly to reflect the changing global environment.

The MBA program is designed to meet the demands of motivated, fast track managers with executive potential. The teaching methods develop and stress independent thinking. Students are expected to meet practical and verifiable achievement levels and to add value to their respective businesses.

  • Studies in the MBA program

The MBA follows a 15-week trimester system. You can start your studies either in the summer, autumn or spring semester.

The entire MBA degree can be completed in a minimum of 12 months. Some participants will complete the coursework in 12-15 months and then take another semester to complete a business project (regular track). The majority of the students complete the degree requirements within 18 months.

The program’s flexible schedule also allows for simultaneously having a full-time job, if needed. Courses are offered on weeknights/weekdays and weekends for your convenience. The program also includes company visits and field trips.

The MBA program has eight different areas of specialization (groups) from which the students can choose to best complement their career objectives.
