Get the best out of your stay in Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur is the lively capital of Malaysia. The name ’Kuala Lumpur’ literally means ’muddy confluence’, which is in contrast to its appearance. There’s a lot to do in and around the fascinating and versatile city, no wonder it’s popular among tourists. What is it that makes KL so attractive? Let’s find out shall we!

Marini’s on 57 is one of Kuala Lumpur’s many hidden gems. It’s an iconic rooftop bar coupled with an Italian restaurant and a place you don’t want to leave once you’ve discovered its awesomeness. The restaurant and bar are located on the 57th floor right next to the Petronas Towers. You can enjoy their happy hour from 5 to 9 pm and witness the best views over KL and its surrounding areas.

Kuala Lumpur is hot and humid at best of times. Combined with the fact that Malaysia is predominantly Muslim and you’re expected to dress modestly, you’ll end up sweating a lot when doing you shopping and sightseeingrounds. This 1.2-kilometer-long walkway, also known as Pavilion-KLCC pedestrian bridge, is an air-conditioned brigde that’s a great alternative to the MRT and taxis. It offers a comfortable way to travel by foot between Bukit Bintang and Kuala Lumpur city center and links both to major shopping and tourism spots.

Are you interested in technology or just looking for a new smartphone? Low Yat is Malaysia’s largest IT lifestyle mall. The 7-storey shopping centre offers everything from laptops, cameras and smartphones to fashion boutiques, restaurants and beauty and wellness centers. The best thing about the shops is that they sell both brand-new and second-hand equipment, so you will for sure find what you are looking for. The prices are also around 30% cheaper than in Europe.

4. Berjaya Times Square

Even though the weather in Malaysia is mostly pleasant, during the rainy season it can be that you will not see the sun for a while. Having a plan B for rainy days is always a good idea. Berjaya Times Square is one of the biggest shopping malls in the world and not only home to just over 1000 retail shops, but also to The Laser Battle KL’s laser tag center and an amusement park with a rollercoaster running through the shopping mall. Find the kid in you and spend a day full of fun with the crew.
