Altogether, we are a multinational team of around 20 people with vast experience and skills in international relations, international networking, sales, marketing, content creation, administration and customer service. Besides the people below, we have many passionate interns, alumni and partners helping us to spread the word about the benefits of studying in Asia.

Management


Harri Suominen

Managing Director, Co-Founder – harri[at]asiaexchange.org

Passionate entrepreneur in education since 2007, big ice hockey fan and inspirational speaker. Feels privileged to make his living with businesses that make a difference. Grateful for being able to help people find their goals and live their dreams.

Harri studied abroad in Athens, Greece and in Shanghai, China.

Tuomas Kauppinen

Director, Co-Founder

Sharp-minded and big-brained Finnish Hongkongian with ambitious goals. Refuses to give-up and encourages everyone around him to reach to excellent results while still cheering the spirit up. Midwifes are gossiping that the first word from his mouth was entrepreneurship, the second perseverance and the third optimization.

Tuomas studied abroad in Greensboro, USA and in Shanghai, China.

Pekka Pernu

Business Development Manager – pekka[at]asiaexchange.org

Easygoing team spirit booster with an eye for new business opportunities. Part of his job is making the team happy and he’s just the right person to do that – his approachability and good moods is contagious!

Pekka studied abroad in Beijing, China. He has also work experience from Spain and Iceland.


Anna-Mari Pietikäinen (on maternity leave)

Operations Manager

Anna-Mari is a walking Asia Exchange and study abroad encyclopedia. And not only that. Thanks to her eye for talent, we have grown to be a team that we are today.

Anna-Mari studied abroad at University of Tartu, Estonia. She has also work experience from Belgium and the Netherlands.

Eini

Eini is our East Asia guru and a happy member of our administrative team. On her free time, she is a wanna-be dog owner and always looking for uncommon home décor. Eini has definitely been asked to.

Eini is a former intern at Asia Exchange. She has work experience from France.

Elsi

International Coordinator – elsi [at] asiaexchange.org

Contact person for the United States, Canada, Belgium, and the Netherlands

Always professional and super efficient in the office. Elsi can be dealing with a home university from the US, a student from the Netherlands and a host university in Indonesia – all simultaneously. She’s a true international multitasker. If you feel relaxed and a bit wild, you might see her windmilling her ponytail!

Elsi studied abroad in Australia. She has work experience from Switzerland, Spain and Germany.

 

IT team


Risto

Planning Officer – risto[at]asiaexchange.org

Risto is the office IT-person who will often save the day when the other mortal beings of the office are struggling with their electronic devices. He is kind, helpful and definitely very funny (or at least he thinks so). He can often be found at the office coffee machine grabbing a refill or waist-deep in electronic application forms. His extreme efficiency keeps the website alive and the office lights on. Risto studied abroad in Taiwan and continues to educate himself at Tampere University.

Miika

Contact person for Austria and Germany

MiikaPMiika is a Germany and networking expert with a passionate can-do attitude. In his free time, MS Paint art and watching movies are so bad that they are actually pretty good. His secret skills include doing incredible and supernatural things under pressure just before deadlines. Miika has studied Chemnitz, Germany and has been working in Germany as well. So he has been backpacking and interrailing around Europe.

Hannes

Contact person for Asian Countries

High-spirited, open-minded and caring team player. Part of his job is pursuing new markets and taking care of business relations, mainly inside Asia. His can-do attitude and flexibility are outstanding.

Hannes studied abroad in France, New Zealand and Indonesia. He has work experience from Austria and Switzerland.

Fabian

Young man with a mustache and dark collared shirt

Charismatic, creative and energetic marketing genius who focuses on inbound marketing. Part of his job is to create marketing collaborations, with students and work from all around the globe. With his artistic vision he can capture the beauty he sees for others to enjoy.

Fabian has studied abroad in Indonesia and has been working as a Freelancer from all over the world.
