Providing expert education since 1965

Siam University was established in 1965 by the late Dr. Narong Mongkhonvanit as the first private engineering school in Thailand. The student body then was a mere 200 but has exploded over the years and by the 2000s, Siam University had already graduated over 70 000 students. The university was formally established as a private institution of higher education and given the power to grant degrees in 1973.

Siam University aims at providing training and skilled experts to specific fields in trained labor. For example, when one of Thailand’s national economic initiatives was to turn the country into a significant competitor on the printing and publishing markets, the university launched a new academic program in Printing Engineering and Digital Media to help provide skilled workers for the industry. Siam University is constantly working on developing and improving its existing curriculum, as well as adding on new fields of expertise that reflect the changing state of the economy and labor demand.

Among the best in internationalization

Siam University has a strong internationalization agenda and many native English speakers from Europe and North America in its faculty. The university believes that its students benefit the most when learning from professors who come from a diversified, international academic background. Siam University is ranked among Thailand’s top ten Universities for its enrollment of international students by Thailand’s Commission of Higher Education which is part of the Thai Ministry of Education. Furthermore, Siam University has dozens of partner universities around the world and several exchange agreements both for students and researchers.

The interdisciplinary competence Siam fosters is a brilliant way to develop one’s study skills and imagination – as is living in the stimulating capital city of Bangkok. The program is ideal for those interested in international markets and finance and want to gain a specifically Asian perspective on the globalizing business environment of today.
