Asia Exchange Scholarships

The continent of Asia has the world’s largest population. Its economic, political and cultural importance is growing rapidly. Studying abroad in Asia will offer you chances for success both at present and in the future.

Asia Exchange wishes to encourage students to study abroad in Asia. We will be awarding scholarships, which will cover the tuition fee of a study abroad program in one of our Asian partner universities for one semester. Below you can find information on the Asia Exchange scholarships. 

Asia Exchange scholarships

Asia Exchange scholarships are awarded twice a year for students from our target countries. The target countries at the moment are Austria, Australia, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, The Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and USA. 

The scholarship is to be used for studying abroad at one of the following Asia Exchange host universities:

• Bali, Indonesia: Udayana University
• Bangkok, Thailand: Kasetsart University and Siam University
• Guangzhou, China: Guangzhou University
• Phuket, Thailand: Prince of Songkla University

Students who are interested in studying in Asia for one semester and study at an institute of higher education at one of the above mentioned countries can apply for the scholarship. The scholarship’s value is up to 1990 €. Please find more information here.

A one page Statement of Purpose and a Transcript of Records are required as attachments. The application should be sent no later than May 4th, 2012. Please fill in  the application form here. 

The Asia Exchange scholarship will be awarded up to 5 students per application round. Tell us why it would be academically beneficial for you to go on exchange to Asia and how you could encourage other students to study abroad in Asia in the future! 

The students who are awarded the scholarship will be informed of the decision two weeks after the application deadline.

Remember that you may be eligible for scholarships and funding also from your home university, government and various foundations supporting studying abroad. Read more about funding here.

Asia Exchange Role Model Scholarship

AE Role Model Scholarship will be awarded at the end of chosen study abroad programs. The value of the scholarship is 200 €. The student to whom the scholarship will be awarded will be chosen by the fellow exchange students, the host university and AE. This scholarship can’t be applied by the students themselves.

The following characteristics are considered when choosing the candidates:

• Interest towards Asia and learning new
• Academic achievements during the semester
• Showing respect towards local culture and other people
• Showing example to others
• A real Gentleman / Gentlewoman

More scholarships will be announced once they are available. Asia Exchange reserves the rights to award the scholarships based on the applications and our consideration.
